Looking For Games?

Hero! Your Adventure Awaits!

Are you ready to embark on epic quests and delve into dungeons with fellow adventurers?

Your Adventure Begins Here:
Your quest begins by finding the right group for your playstyle and schedule. Don't worry though, once you join our Discord and do the onboarding there, we have the hard part done for you! All tables ready to accept new players are posted there and when we say ALL tables we mean both in person and online! Sign up starts there!

Once onboarding is finished and you pick a table with open seats all you have to do is pay the seat reservation to start playing!

We Need Game Masters!

Are you a seasoned Game Master looking to turn your passion into a profession? Learn how you can offer your services as a paid GM and bring unforgettable adventures to life!

The Traveling Bard Studios only accepts the best of the best when it comes to Game Masters! We hold our players to high standards at the table and our GMs standards are just as high because we live by the rule
"No D&D is better than BAD D&D."

Our Game Masters have proven themselves to be competent, compassionate, driven, fair, and fun. They are ready to bring an amazing adventure to the table and understand the game to make all the tough calls when necessary.

Wanna be a Traveling Bard GM? Do this first:

You Need the Basics:
Every GM needs the following supplies before they start their GM-ing journey.
  • 1 GM Screen
  • TTRPG Dice (preferably MANY pairs!)
  • Dungeon Master Guide
  • Player's Handbook
  • A module to run or (if you are highly experienced) a homebrew campaign or one-shots.

Have all that? GREAT! Let's move on to the next thing!

Being accepted as a Traveling Bard Studios GM!
  • You must be 18+ to preform work for The Traveling Bard Studios.
  • You must pass our audition before tax and legal info is collected for you to start running games for The Traveling Bard Studios.

We have made it easy to apply too! Everything outside of legal documents are done through our Discord server so if you are ready to try your hand at running TTRPG games professionally join our discord!
Join Our Discord!
Once you have been accepted as a Game Master you will be able to accept gigs and post your own games in the Discord!

Gigs range from corporate events and conventions to campaigns set up in public and private spaces. When an opportunity presents itself, you have the ability to accept it! Pay ranges from $10 to up to $50 per hour depending on the type of event!

How and when do I get paid?
We pay our GM's $10 per player for every 3-hour game they run. Tables sizes can be up to 6 players for a full table! So that's up to $60 per 3-hours (or about $20 per hour)! We use Paypal, Zelle, Venmo, and cashapp to send you your money. Payment will be sent within 24 hours after your scheduled game has finished.

You will only be paid per 3-hour game. We do not pay over that limit. If your players want to continue the game they will have to pay for another reservation in order to play longer (and for you to get paid for your time!) We have tools in place in our Discord to help you manage your time, however ultimately, you are responsible for your time management.

Also, we want to make sure that being a professional GM for us is worth it for you, so to ensure that your time is paid well we have a minimum player count of 4 players. However, if only 3 players enter your table, we will leave option for you to still run your table however 3 or fewer players will not pay out as well as 4+ players will. Thus, it will be left up to your discretion to continue the game because even though 3 or fewer players won't pay out as well continuing your game (especially during the beginning) can still help you gain good report with your players and will help your players build confidence in you as their GM thus it will keep them coming back to your table!

For TTBS events GM's will be paid an hourly wage ranging from $10-$50 per hour depending on the event and will receive payment after the event is over. (Example running games for a library for 2 hours and TTBS offers $10 per hour. You will receive $20 at the end of the event.) These events are opt in events that are offered to TTBS GMs that have been with us for 2+ years.

Shape Your Destiny:
The more active you are as a professional GM for The Traveling Bard Studios the more gigs you will be offered! You control how many opportunities come your way! All size gigs are important to us here at The Traveling Bard Studios! They help build your portfolio and your reputation in the TTRPG community (that includes us), regardless of pay size.

However, if we see that you have turned down or no showed for 10 or more game events (either ones you have set up or ones that TTBS has set up) within a calendar year, we will assume that being a Professional GM isn't for you and your contract with us will be terminated. You will then have to wait 1 calendar year from the date of your contract termination before you may reapply to become a professional GM.

Tips for Success:
  • Communication: Keep communication lines open with your parties and with us during the gigs to ensure clear expectations.
  • Flexibility: Be adaptable in scheduling and session styles to accommodate diverse player preferences and table sizes! The Traveling Bard Studios does its best to ensure no tables exceed 6ds players. We expect our DMs to be able to DM for tables for a minimum or 3 players but no more than 10 players when needed.
  • Community Engagement: Foster positive relationships within the TTRPG community to enhance your visibility and credibility and stay positive during your games outside of or provided by The Traveling Bard Studios! We want our GMs to be requested back! That means more gaming for all of us and more pay for you!
